UCLA Anti-Israel Protests Turn Violent Overnight

Dramatic updates occurred overnight in both the Columbia University Siege of Hamilton Hall and the UCLA Pro-Palestine encampment.

Pro-Israel protestors and counter-protestors began assembling directly across from barricades set up around the pro-Palestine encampment. Early this morning, the two groups began clashing after the counter-protestors attempted to dismantle the barricade.

At the time, there was no police presence at the protests, despite UCLA being a public university. The violence continued for approximately two hours, with students using fireworks and pepper spray against each other. One protestor was hauled away in an ambulance.

As of now, the LAPD has separated the two groups of protestors, and it appears that arrests may soon be made.

At Columbia University, the NYPD has finally stepped in at the request of the University. Early this morning, they stormed Hamilton Hall, which had been occupied by protestors since Tuesday morning. Officers in riot gear used flash bangs to disperse the crowd and marched arrested rioters to a line of buses to be hauled off.
